chillout after heavy duty at the 'japan' harbor of Tevä. a majestic storm front arises in the south, beaming Paltaniemi and Kajaani with a continous lightning that inspires awe across the lake.

sat, 19/07/03

i hook up with tommi, miika and nelli at Neuvosenniemi. we build a house.

miika stays on boat. we raid martinlahti for gas, bottles and a fishing license.

so on the way to Karhusaari we fish. there's a chromatic sunset. one bass provides the late-evening snack.

major cleanup in hanna. seethru windows now. the pilge pump is out of order, so we have to do some hard work every now and then. scuba-diving - oh yes. anything beginning with a r for relax seems okay.

i0ne calls from pori and we hear live roots. this is a strange era. a strange world for the living, and strange air to breathe in.

early evening, we head out to some more fishing and a supper at Honkinen. no luck with the fishing yet.

off and out. there's an island to go round.

a shit hits the fan. i was on my way to dump. honkinen is a black spot in my mind for a reason.

jupe is coming.

i wake at 0945 and realize that jupe really is coming. a hunting pernis apivorus takes care of the residual sand in our eyes. byflying gavia arctica is a comforting reminder: some always survive.

an urban enterprise. trains move on their tracks, and time is forced upon the otherwise momentous hanna. we take what is given unto us, lay down intricate webs of social interactivity, and head out again, with spotless decks. but can you believe there is no read-in cafe in vaala? surely, dear friends, i'm shocked.

to ykspisto we sail, and there a fine meal is served. the evening is perfect with its scorching sun and screeching hawks. i dive for an anchor, succesfully. tommi joins in, and the living quarters undergo an expansion. we make a fire, pop a bottle and sing a little song.

we rise just before the thunder, and find shelter from äpätinniemi.

we split, with miika and tommi set to raid martinlahti as me and jupe set course for uupunu. the journey is not an uneventful one, as we have two thunderstorms around us all the way. we manage to sneak past however, but find the lagoon of uupunu already in use. we stick for a while anyway, as the storm is a bit of a problem.

after couple of hours and a supper we seek a calmer beach at ärjänsaari.

the weather just keeps on keeping on. after a long breafast, some fun and games, we set course towards paltamo. on the way we encounter lost treasures, titanic storms and another flying friend.

we find a safe harbor and inevitably the group dispatches. to paraphrase the passed master: so long and thanks for all the fish.
